The Event

Imagine 1,000 ping pong balls being dropped from a Fire Ladder truck onto targets at 589 Main Street Park in downtown Carbondale! It's all happening on First Friday, May 1st! 
 
Get ready for the fifth annual Fireball Drop, brought to you by Alpine Bank and benefiting Carbondale Rotary! Purchase adoption tickets for only $20 apiece for a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000! Other prize packages worth at least $250 are also available! All proceeds fund our scholarships, local grants, youth services and international relief work!
 
Look for tickets for sale from our Rotarians at City Market Carbondale from Thursday through Sunday starting this weekend throughout April and through our youth non-profit partners, Raising a Reader, Ascendigo, and the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District!

The Cause

The Fireball Drop is a one-of-a-kind event in support of the service work of Rotary Club of Carbondale. Each ticket is tax-deductible and all proceeds after expenses fund our scholarships for local high school students, Rotary Youth Exchange, our local non-profit donations, and service projects both here in Carbondale and worldwide through Rotary International. 

First Friday Fun!

Plans for the Fireball Drop include having members of the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District drop the balls from their ladder truck onto a field with targets at 589 Main Street Park on Main Street in Carbondale! Will your ticket match the ball closest to the target? Come see for yourself or watch online on Facebook!

The Details

The Rotary Club of Carbondale is part of Rotary International, a worldwide service organization with over 1.2 million volunteer members. Rotary members embody the spirit of “Service above Self.” Rotary Club of Carbondale is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization and tickets for the Fireball Drop are tax-deductible.

The total number of ping pong balls dropped depends on the number of tickets sold. Ticket costs are as follows:
  • 1 ball for $20
  • 3 balls for $50

Each ticket will be assigned a unique ball number by computer. If your ball hits or is closest to the center target you are the winner of the $5,000 first place prize. Positive identification will be required for all prizes won.

Please note that members, employees, agents and assignees of the Rotary Club of Carbondale, its advertising agencies involved in the race as resident Rotary family and household members shall be ineligible to win prizes associated with this race.

Additional winners will claim other prize packages worth at least $250!
