Fundraising Committee

The mission of the fundraising committee is to raise the necessary funds to support the mission and programs of the Rotary Club of Carbondale. As of now this consists of our major spring event, the Fireball Drop, where the public can purchase individual ping pong balls for a chance to win a grand prize and our Potato Days Pancake breakfast in October. Past events included a casino night and other themed social nights with food, a silent and live auction.

Fireball Drop

Carbondale Rotary Fireball Drop is our signature event where we raffle off 1,000 or more ping pong balls that are dropped from Carbondale Fire’s ladder truck onto targets during Carbondale's First Friday in early May. The Grand Prize is $5,000 cash and there are four $500 runner-up prizes! The event is a fun one for the community as whole thing is viewable in person at the Village Smithy in downtown Carbondale and it's also live-streamed on Facebook!

Potato Days Pancake Breakfast

Hungry Potato Day fans can flock to the Carbondale Rotary Pancake Breakfast, where we fire up the grill for pancakes (and potato pancakes) on the first Saturday in October at Chacos Park downtown Carbondale!

Rotary volunteers serve pancakes (and potato pancakes) from 8:30am to 10:30am.

Regular pancakes are $10/plate (or potato pancakes for $15/plate) including sausage, orange juice and Bonfire coffee! All proceeds went to benefit the Rotary Club of Carbondale and our scholorships, grants and service projects.
We welcome Rotary member volunteers to help solicit contributions, sell tickets and manage the events. We also partner with other non-profits to sell tickets and keep a portion of the proceeds.

Fundraising enables Carbondale Rotary to provide support for all our scholarships, local grants, international grants and service projects. It is the fuel that drives the successful outcomes of our mission.
